I may lose some friends on this app for what I’m about to say but I’d rather have people who actually support  me on here anyway.As much as I appreciate supporting people because that’s what I have been raised to do I am officially pulling back. I have had the Danaya Azure brand since I was a 10 year old Belly Dancer. Yes #DanayaAzureRadio is powered by #Nexxlegacy  but Danaya Azure was powered by the late Yvonne Taylor aka Nazaree Azure to everyone who truly has supported me I appreciate you Whether it be purchasing jewelry , being a guest on my show or purchasing an ad to keep the show going y’all totally rock. But for everyone else where are you? I had a whole section on my show focused on Chicago Artists and Chicago didn’t tune in so we pulled it. I had a whole section focused only on independent talent but independent talent didn’t support it and mind you we don’t charge artists for music or interviews and I’m sure that’s not the case for the majority of the city Radio stations. Don’t get it twisted we have an amazing audience of people who tuned in from around the world but not from my own city. This bites and it’s hurtful. We have so much talent in this city but we’re so focused on just a few people that everyone else gets overlooked. I want to shine a light on this city for the positive things that go on here because the world has such a negative view of us because of what the media narrative is and make no mistake people are getting a bag off of making us look bad. With this insane election approaching I figured I would say something now because how this election goes directly affects my show personally. Because if they get rid of NPR that means no more Tiny Desk Concerts too. That means. No more freedom of speech Well the little that we have left The little that we have left anyhow.
